As co-owner of BRS, Dr. Leah Yasenchak oversees redevelopment planning efforts for environmentally compromised property and resiliency projects. Leah is the principal in charge of the firm’s practice areas of resiliency, economic development, planning, outreach, and grant writing services. Her unique background in the disciplines of planning, economic development, and environmental sciences provides an interdisciplinary approach invaluable to clients.
Leah has more than 30 years of experience at the federal and local levels in environmental policy, grant writing and administration, and brownfields redevelopment. She received her B.A. and M.A. degrees in public administration of environmental policy from American University, her M.S. degree in environmental science from Johns Hopkins University, and her doctorate in planning and public policy from Rutgers University. She is a certified and licensed planner and a certified economic developer.
